Summer Winds

Five highly accomplished Auckland-based wind players formed the Manawa Wind Quintet out of a desire to explore the rich repertoire for the wind quintet, and to share a variety of pieces of differing styles and genres with audiences.

These five highly accomplished Auckland-based wind players formed the Manawa Wind Quintet out of a desire to explore the rich repertoire for the wind quintet, and to share a variety of pieces of differing styles and genres with audiences.

Manawa means ‘breath’, but also ‘patience’ and heart.
The Manawa Wind Quintet was formed in 2017, after the players had
performed together in other groups and orchestras for many years.
