Waiheke Moods

Local favourites and top performers Paul Harrop, Joe Harrop and Chris Orange with their own jazz/classical blend which lovers of both genres will enjoy.

Favourite local artists Paul Harrop (piano), Dr Joe Harrop (violin/viola), and Chris Orange (double bass/vocals) will perform a jazz/classical blend that will delight all listeners. On their programme is a widely varied repertoire of jazz to classic-like renditions of well-known standards – something for all!

Joe, violinist, who obtained his PhD at the Royal Academy of Music, will provide a range of moods on both violin and viola. He recently starred in Waiheke’s famous Walking Festival.

Paul, pianist, who gained his Bachelor of Music while playing in many clubs and spots throughout Auckland at night and being a chartered
accountant by day, will colour each mood accordingly.

Chris Orange, bassist and lecturer at MAINZ, holds the structure together with thoughtful rhythmic lines, as well as providing the odd moody vocal line on top.

The object of the trio is ‘to go where no other Island-based jazz trio has gone before’ and in that sense, at least, the performance is likely to be a bit of a special trek for listeners. Book your seats early, by emailing us!
