This award winning quartet are the current recipients of the Royal Over-Seas League scholarship for chamber ensemble. Viereinigkeit, pronounced, ‘fear-ein-ig-kite’, translates from German as, ‘four-in-one-ness’; a sense of camaraderie among four friends. Formed in 2019 at the University of Auckland School of Music, violinists Zosia Herlihy-O’Brien, Weihong Yi, violist Jessie Anderson, and cellist Vincent Chen are currently mentored by James Yoo.
Their ‘friend’ is Bryan Lin (piano) who is a recent graduate from the University of Auckland School of Music in Performance Piano under the guidance of Stephen De Pledge. Together they will perform works for strings and piano by Brahms and Elgar, and Viereinigkeit will perform string quartets by Beethoven and Borodin.
Valuing tonal cohesion, musicianship, and faithfulness to the intention of the composer, this promises to be a superb and lively concert.
