The World to Breathe | Nancy Howie
When New Zealand went into lockdown in March 2020, our piano tuner, Nancy Howie, a versatile musician, went into her basement to see if she could construct a cello out of a fence post, a tin can and some fishing twine. It turned out, she could. So she kept making new instruments from old materials and writing songs to play with them. By the end of 2020 she had 17 instruments and 13 songs. She is now fundraising for her upcoming album, The World To Breathe.
Nancy will present each instrument and tell the story behind the collection. Come and experience them for yourself at the Museum and support her project through her Give a Little page and find out more on her website & facebook page.
Entry is by Koha – please arrive in plenty of time!
