Upright Grand Piano, Ebony
Made by: Richard Lipp, Stuttgart
Made in: 1914
A high quality piano, with a beautiful tone and still suitable for concert use. The length of the strings is equal to a 6 ft 6 in grand piano and the large soundboard amplifies the sound to fill a concert hall.
The piano was totally restored circa 1990 and more recently the bodywork was re-ebonised and gold-leaf restored by Richard Postel.
This piano was donated to the Museum by Ingun Mjeivas and Jannicke Mueller of Norway after visiting the museum.
