Symphony Player Organ – Twenty Two Stops
Made by: Wilcox and White, USA
Made in: 1891
This organ was a total wreck when the Whittakers found it in a second-hand shop in Katikati. It took many months to restore, the mechanical part needing much work. The stool with tapestry woven top slopes slightly for ease of pedalling this reed organ.
While this organ can be played manually, it is also a player organ. The rolls are over 100 years old. Restored by Lloyd Whittaker, with help from Jim Harper of Wellington.
Financed by a grant from Waiheke Community Board.
