Lawrence Wong brings us a programme featured around some of Nikolai Medtner’s Forgotten Melodies. Medtner is a significant Russian composer whose works are very seldom heard. Following his death his great skill as a piano composer was all but forgotten for a quarter of a century. It will be a privilege to hear some of his pieces come out of obscurity in our very special Musical Museum. Alongside Medtner’s poetic and wistful works we will hear pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, and Medtner’s contemporary, Scriabin.
